Volume 8 (Fabrizio de Andrè)

Pubblicato nel 1975, il disco si stacca dai gli altri dischi di De Andrè. Non solo come genere musicale, ma pure perchè conterrà la collaborazione do Francesco De Gregori. La maggior parte delle canzoni sono canzoni autobiografiche, come Giugno 73, amico fragile, Oceano, che era una “dedica” al figlio Cristiano che avendo sentito Alice di De Gregori si faceva un sacco di domande e il padre cerchera di rispondere a tutti questi dubbi del figlio. Giugno 73 parla di una storia d’amore finita male da parte di Fabrizio, parlando di come lui e una donna della borghesia fossero diversi per poi complicare le cose e mettersi in mezzo la madre di lei.
Amico Fragile parla di come una volta rispose male durante una festa quando gli venne chiesto se poteva suonare. Fabrizio li mandò tutti a quel paese per poi farsi una sbronza così forte da addormentarsi nel magazzino ed essere ritrovato dalla moglie il giorno dopo. Mentre le storie di ieri ha riferimenti letterari come i fratelli Karamazov che parla di come Gesù Cristo sia tornato sulla terra ma verrà processato come eretico nella inquisizione. Invece Nancy oppure (Seems So Long Ago, Nancy) è una canzone di Leonard Cohen che parla di un episodio veramente accaduto ad una ragazza di Montreal che voleva finirla per sempre.
Le storie di ieri riferimento alla ideologia fascista che poi diventerà MSI (Movimento Sociale Italiano) dopo che il regima era caduto. Dolce luna parla di un uomo che racconta la storia di un marinaio solitario che vorrebbe stare con la balena che si chiama Dolce luna. L’uomo usa questa metafora per dirgli che c’è bisogno di fare i capricci oppure un figlio per stare nella società Borghese.
Canzone per l’estate parla di uomo sposato con donna in modo apparentemente felice con due bambini. Ma pure se ha una famiglia, vita tranquilla, ha un vuoto dentro e non riesce più a volare.

Released in 1975, the disc stands out from the other De Andrè discs. Not only as a musical genre, but also because it will contain the collaboration of Francesco De Gregori. Most of the songs are autobiographical songs, such as June 73, fragile friend, Oceano, which was a “dedication” to his son Cristiano who, having heard De Gregori’s Alice, asked himself a lot of questions and his father will try to answer all these doubts of the son. June 73 talks about a love story that ended badly on the part of Fabrizio, talking about how he and a woman of the bourgeoisie were different and then complicate things and her mother gets in the way.
Fragile Dude talks about how he once snapped at a party when asked if he could play. Fabrizio sent them all to hell to then get so drunk that he fell asleep in the warehouse and was found by his wife the next day. While Yesterday’s Stories has literary references like the Brothers Karamazov which talks about how Jesus Christ returned to earth but will be tried as a heretic in the inquisition. Instead Nancy or (Seems So Long Ago, Nancy) is a song by Leonard Cohen that talks about an episode that really happened to a girl from Montreal who wanted to end it forever.
Yesterday’s stories refer to the fascist ideology which will later become MSI (Movimento Sociale Italiano) after the regime had fallen. Dolce luna is about a man who tells the story of a lonely sailor who would like to be with the whale named Dolce luna. The man uses this metaphor to tell him that you need to throw a tantrum or have a child to stay in bourgeois society.
Song for the summer is about a man married to a seemingly happy woman with two children. But even if he has a family, a quiet life, he has an emptiness inside and can no longer fly.
